Can someone please tell me if it's possible to search the forums for multiple terms which do not give results for each individual term? ...if you know what I mean.
e.g. If I want to search for posts/threads that include the words "Bach Inventions", how do I avoid getting the many results which include the words "Bach" or "Invention" only?
I've tried doing this, but without success. Curiously it was possible with the old style forums. This is a - if not the - major drawback with the new version as far as I'm concerned. The facility was so useful.

Prefixing each term with a plus sign should do it; put a phrase within quotation marks if you want to find that exact phrase:
+bach +inventions
"bach inventions"

I tried searching for "Bach Inventions" (in quotes), and each hit did bring up Bach Inventions without separate hits for Bach and for Inventions. However, the words weren't highlighted, but the post containing those words was the post at the top of the screen.
If the words searched for are also in the title of the thread, each post in that thread will be listed as a separate "hit." Try "Chopin Impromptu" for example.

Steven Thanks Steven, but I'd already tried this and I still get results containing the separate terms only - frustrating! Guess I'll go the Google search route, as suggested by tangleweeds. Frank, if you read this, is there anything you can do?

The search: +Bach +Inventions should theoretically work, but like cruiser I was having trouble with it myself a couple days ago. I gave up.

Searching by Google is a great idea. I already search Amazon and Wikipedia via Google searches, so this makes plenty of sense.
Yeah, the technical infrastructure for this forum feels about 5-10 years old. But, it works, it's very stable, and if it's not broken....
