Hallo Herr Feurich!

Dear Mr Feurich,

It will be nice to have you on board of this forum as a representative of a specialist piano manufacturer and learn from your future contributions here.

Even in Europe we do not know all that much about Feurich pianos as they are not wide spread overhere either.

Welcome Julius! I haven't seen you for about 20 years but still have happy memories of our very successful association in the 1980's.

My customers who chose Feurich are still as happy today as the day they first took delivery - and the pianos still sound incredibly good!

Best wishes.

Charles Lang: why would you send a translation only to Terry in a PM? If you are going to post something on this site, it seems to me you should provide a translation on the site. It's not as though what you posted is private; after all, anyone who knows German will know what it says. If you post it, it is public.

Failing a translation from Charles, could someone else who speaks German please post a translation? If Charles is reluctant to share a translation, perhaps the post should never have been put on the site at all.

Let's not get off track just because someone chose to post in Mr. Feurich's native language. While I prefer to be able to read the posts without having to translate, PW is an International web site, and Julius is a guest from Germany.

The link I gave a couple of posts back in the thread works fine, I was able to understand the post (it was a "welcome" post).

There is certainly nothing wrong with posting in German, and I never intended to imply that there was. If I had an issue at all, it was with the fact that, when asked for a translation, the poster sent one in in a PM to the person who requested it. That struck me as unduly secretive.

Not a real issue, just a thought. I am sorry if my request was misconstrued.

It was a very well written letter of welcome to Mr.Feurich as Frank said. I agree with Frank about staying on track. I hope the people of this forum come together and give Julius a very warm welcome. His family has been a huge influence in the piano industry for 5 generations. To this day he still carries on the tradition of making exquisite hand made pianos in Germany. Btw,i get nothing in return for all of my comments about Feurich pianos. I just love the instruments they make and my posts are not intended as a sales pitch. I am just a true Feurich Fanatic!

Weclome to the forum, Mr. Feurich! smile This is a great place, although we can wander off-topic and get a little argumentative, as this thread itself attests. wink

My step-mother had a Feurich grand piano that I would play around on during summers I was staying with my father. I was too young and didn't know anything about pianos at that time, but I knew it had a beautiful sound. smile

Thank you Frank for the warm wellcome at your forum.

I just I had to registrate here because I found some informations about my family and company which I thought needed to be corrected. But first of all, I thank all the other members who already send their wellcome greatings before I even had a chance to start. I am more or less speachless for so many comments in such a sort time. I can tell you, this makes me proud on one hand and on the other hand it tells me to continue to keep this wonderful heritage going, although the times are very tuff, these days.

But I wanted to come back to several subjects I have read the last days, in this forum.
The first comment I would like to make is, that the present number of pianos in production does not mean anything about the SIZE of a company. It Has been said that Feurich is making 20 high end pianos only. This is correct in terms of grand pianos. Together with vertical pianos we are making about 50 pianos on total. But this reflects the present economical situation at these days. As you know we have a high percentage of exports, and so we are also depended to other countries economies. IN the years when the dollar was strong we shipped up to 85 grands to the US in one year. I want to say, that it is not only the present output of production when you are talking about the size of a company.
It also is important that the pianos we are producing are fixed orders. If a production is pushed to supply the dealers with consigned pianos does not speak about size of a company.
Feurich piano company is now existing for more than 158 year, one of the oldest still existing companies worldwide.
And if Feurich runs today a smaller production than years before, this is only a decision to stay profitable in the market. Several other companies tried to keep their size and failed.
The Feurich company used to have 60 company owned 9 foot concert grands an all stages worldwide. The Feurich company was run over all the past 158 years by the family and always family owned. And even big difficulties in the 1920s, the war, the expropiation in 1959, the 90s, could not get the family away of keep on going. And of course there is a permanent need of adopting a company to the economical situations.
Another size of a company is, that the sound culture of a brand is unique and not exchangeable. The sound character of Feurich pianos is stable for many many years and will not be changed, because we are convinced of this. Feurich certainly will not copy a sound character in order to come closer to a so called ideal. We think this is a poor development, because it weekens variety of sound characters which I think is most important.
All this makes the size of a company and not the numbers only. As a matter of fact is does not make a big difference if a company makes 50, 100, or 500 units. They all are very small and they all can exist by their unique quality only.

It also has been discussed several times if or if not Feurich has been made in Germany. I can assure you personally that every single FEURICH piano is hand made in Gunzenhausen, Germany. I am happy to wellcome anybody who wants to convince himself with a visit in Gunzenhausen. I am most upset if bad rumors are brought in this small branch, because we ALL does not need this kind of fence-war. Very disappointing that many of these rumors are installed by other manufactures and competitors. This does not tells about style and good education.

Thank you for attention,
Julius Feurich

IMO that's the only way to survive - that and maybe developing a "B" line which can be sold in China;-)

Hi,
I am a little bit confused if I have to answer to a nameless.

As you know, we do have a "B" line with our F 197 in the program and you are most welcome to order it. We rather prefer to supply our customers in western cultures rather than China.
