Hi to everyone!
I found my Celviano AP 500 suddenly with low volume! I can not adjust it, even if I turn up the volume! What to do?

First get a multimeter and make sure you have the correct voltage at the outlet.

Failing that, it sounds like there may be a problem with your piano's amplifier and it will need service by a qualified technician.

One other suggestion. Plug in some headphones. Is the volume 'normal' through them? If not, it may be something else.

Thank you! The voltage is OK, it comes from an UPS device. I pluged in the headphones as you say and it is the same problem, you hear normally but the volume doesn't change. So it can be the piano's amplifier?

I would think that if it's the amp, the problem wouldn't occur with the headphones. You might want to have a tech take a look at it.

Another possibility is that you have a bad volume potentiometer (slider/knob). That's probably not a hard fix for a tech to do.

Good luck, and be sure to let us know what you find out!

You could also try re-initializing your piano. You can check your owner's manual for the specifics on how to do that, but returning everything to default settings might also fix the trouble. Have you also tried unplugging your piano for several minutes to see if anything happens?

I would ask for help from a tech, but before want to be sure that if it is not such a complicated problem. The piano is only one year old and in good conditions, so potentiometer problems are excluded. I connected the piano today with an amplifier and it doesn't gives any out signal to the amplifier.

Piano have been unplugged all night and the problem remain! If the manual had something for reseting, I would do it but it doesn't say anything.

I wouldn't say potentiometer problems are "excluded", just remote. It really sounds like there is something wrong that a tech would need to look at.

Hey GMY, what happened with your Celviano volume? I've taken my Celviano apart just to see what was in there and while it is way beyond my level of expertise (for example, I would just diagnose your problem as having "blown a flux capacitor"), it is a lot less complicated and more accessible than, say, a laptop. I don't think it would be too tough for somebody knowledgeable to diagnose and repair.

Hi to all you contributors! Being that casio has not yet an official Service Point in my country, I have contacted some other technicians who have opened the piano. They think also that it can be something easy like capacitors or so. The problem is that for the moment they are not finding the way to reach under the potenciameter. It is in a difficult position! Any one has a picture of a scheme, or any service manual for Casio Celviano?

PS. I've been away from the forum after being very busy lately!

Hi everyone!
Now finally the problem was found! The potentiometer was damaged and we replaced it with another! Thank you very much for your support!
