NY LaGuardia suspect frequented piano store
(AP) – 6 hours ago

NEW YORK — The man accused of causing a bomb scare that shut down LaGuardia Airport is described as a "brilliant" classical pianist.

Scott McGann was a frequent visitor at Beethoven Pianos in Manhattan, where he rented a piano for $15 an hour. He was there Friday, a day before he was arrested.

The store's marketing manager, Perry Fellwock, said the "brilliant" pianist was "always welcome" there.

Fellwock tells the New York Daily News: "He's not a terrorist. ... We all know him."

McGann is accused of carrying a phony bomb into LaGuardia on Saturday, forcing the airport to be closed for several hours.

McGann was charged with placing a false bomb in a transportation facility and making a terrorist threat. He's undergoing a psychiatric evaluation before his Thursday court appearance.

No description of the phony bomb. I wonder if it's something like a digital device that makes tick tick tick ding tick tick tick ding sounds. That's too much like a bomb timer, isn't it? laugh

The gist of the story is that you can rent a piano at $15/hour at Beethoven's. I wonder what brand. I had no idea that was possible and I am in the neighborhood more or less..

Beware! Forget racial profiling -- airports all around the world will clamp down hard on suspected classical pianists. Zimerman's woes will be nothing in comparison!
