Hey I just got logic and was wondering if there are any easy guides for using the 'piano roll' and 'score' features. I am having trouble with an imported garageband file because it doesn't display the notes as triplets and i would like them to. how can i fix them?

I would suggest the books from Apple's training series. And you've probably already found it, but a quick google search turned up a Sound on Sound article that may help, too.

The score feature in Logic can be quite challenging but will give decent results for simpler pieces with some effort.

To display triplets select the part and then you'll need to change the quantise value in the score editor (should be at the top left - try clicking the right facing arrows if you can't see it) to something with a 12 or 24 in (eg 16, 12).

Alternatively you could set the score quantise to a high value then make the note lengths in the piano roll exactly right. This can be very time consuming though.

You'll find answers here: http://www.logicprohelp.com/index.php
Great bunch of guys there, ready to help.

Also, you should sign-up for "One-to-One" at the Apple store. $169 for an hour a week (for a year) training session. The Logic Pro experts at Apple will show you how to do it all.

Great program!

Best, John

You can still stop in an Apple store and ask them questions about Logic. They told me I didn't have to wait for the training session, just to stop in when I have a question.

Too bad you can't sign-up for One to One.
