I remember the show very well. It was a refreshing contrast from the mindless drivel that pollutes the airwaves 99% of the time. I was exactly Kevin's age in the show's time setting (late 60's), and I grew up in a cookie-cutter suburban neighborhood just like his. I could usually relate to his perspective and was disappointed when the show was canceled.
I didn't take lessons as a kid, so I never had a Mrs. Carples, but I suspect that if I had my result would have been a lot like Kevin's.
Interestingly though, as a middle-aged refugee of those "wonder years" I've managed to learn a version of the Cannon in D and probably enjoy it more now than I would have then.

Yes, a favorite of mine. One of the better written shows on TV. Related to the show in some form or fashion everytime I watched it.

The best part is that the show survived the original creators/writers jumping ship with hardly a hitch.

The young actress that played "Winnie" (sp?) Danica Mckellar went on be a sort of math genius and has been instrumental in getting other young women to pursue math and other non-traditional careers. Even I being much younger can relate to some of it...  This is certainly one of the best shows I've ever seen. It's right up there with The Andy Griffith Show and Leave it to Beaver.
