Some 20 years ago I bought Russ Shipton’s MUSIC COURSE booklet ...
"A revolutionary new approach to understanding reading and playing music keyboards" ... which, over the years has provided an easy reference to the various keyboard conventions .

With so many brave newcomers (on their own) coming to grips with playing the piano ... and perhaps battling to understand the musical SIGNS AND TERMS , it occurred to me that Russ Shipton had provided a neat summary on page 90 (Theory) ... which could prove a handy reference to any beginner ... the Internet suggests that the booklet is out of print .

Here’s the story on "signs and terms" ... hoping the info proves of assistance.

A question: I see "crescendo / decrescendo" I remember somebody being corrected on PW when he wrote "decrescendo" and that he was told the right term is "diminuendo". Up to then I had thought they were synonyms but afterward I thought maybe decresc. doesn't exist after all. What's up with that? Or what am I getting wrong?

The only problems I see are with the definitions of Slur (inaccurate) and Grace note (simplistic).
