Does anyone have a good site that lists chord progressions and what scales go well with them, specifically for Jazz?

Wealth of information in the tool bar. For example:

Click on the progression and you will be taken to the specific song that used that progression.

Backing tracks to play along with. Notice the BPM, I like anything less than 100. LOL

Little something about harmonizing melody notes to the chords.

Little more on harmonizing - you have the melody note - these chords will harmonize that melody note. Why? They will have some of the same notes in their makeup. It works both ways - chicken or egg.

1 degree of the scale try I, IV, vi or ii7 chords of that key.
Lets use the C note for an example I CEG, IV FAC, vi ACE, ii7 DFAC
2 degree of the scale try V, ii7, iii7 chords of that key.
D melody note; V GBD, ii7 DFAC, iii7 EGBD,
3 degree of the scale try I, vi, iii chords of that key.
4 degree of the scale try IV, ii, v7 chords of that key.
5 degree of the scale try V, I, iii chords of that key.
6 degree of the scale try IV, ii, vi chords of that key.
7 degree of the scale try V7, iii, Imaj7 chords of that key.

Having trouble harmonizing a melody note and you do not want to destroy the rest, tension, climax, resolution progression you have going - think extensions, 6th, maj7 or the sus chords. Will add notes that can help harmonize and leave the progression structure alone.

Good luck

Malcolm
