I've decided that I can't proceed with this so I am releasing Op 25, No. 11. I just won't have a performance quality version by July.

I know but for a variety of reasons it just isn't going to happen by July. I used to play the "revolutionary" but never played any of the others. I used to play the c sharp minor scherzo also but have forgotten all of it. I used to know how to play the ravel sonatine, Rhapsody in Blue (most of it), carolina shout, and the closing theme from Empire Strikes Back, but I've forgotten it all.

Maybe I'll get my act together but it's difficult because practicing piano means taking time away from composing, and I really don't have much time to begin with.

A big thank you to YD who has kindly offered a website to host the collection of fantastic performances i’m sure we’ll hear

Zac or YD, could you let us know how/when to upload our files? I'm going to be travelling in France up until the end of July and am not sure I'll be back for the 7/31 deadline. I would be able to upload the file before I leave (mid-June).

Thanks!

I'm putting the finishing touches on Moszkowski's Virtuosic Etude Op. 79 No. 2 in G minor. Does this qualify for the recital? laugh

I'm gonna have to pass on "La Campanella," so it's open, now. My summer's just to busy.

Sorry if this question has already been answered...

Are these going to be video performances or audio only? Or does one have a choice?

This is going to be a fantastic event. I can't wait for the "fireworks" at the end of July! Best to all of you.

Greetings everybody.
In preparation for this event I registered the domain etuderecital.org; that's where I am planning to host it.
How's everybody doing?

Terribly =/ I underestimated the middle section (Rach 39/5), especially the recapitulation of the main theme in the LH. I might have to fall back on something else, but won't claim anything.

I am, however, looking forward to hearing the other submissions.

I have the first 2/3 of 39/1 learned and started the other two. Hopefully I'll be ready! laugh I haven't learned a concert etude in years!

I am still telling myself that I'll have Rach 39/4, if not as ready as I'd like, at least not so abjectly horrible that I'll chicken out at the last minute. I have never put anything on the internet before and I am getting these "why on earth did you say you'd do that?" moments. shocked

Hi... i got

Rachmaninoff - Etude Tableux Op. 39 No. 6 - A minor

audio http://www.rickerchoi.com/audio/Rachmaninoff-EtudeTableux-39-6.mp3

video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf69jq1x3Z8&feature=channel

I love the way I played in the audio file, but I think better to show video too (which however is a different performance and I don´t quite like how I did play)

I'm playing Rach 39/5 for a competition in 2 weeks, so I'll be happy to perform it, that is if you all are interested and it isn't already taken smile

Synapse - sure we would love to have you join in. I think Rachmaninoff 39/5 is still up for grab. After you record your piece, send the MP3 file or the link to zp3929 or YD. Don't post it here smile

zp3929 - on your first post in this thread, can you re-sort the selections like all the Chopin Etudes together and in their order, Liszt Transcendental Etudes together, etc.?

I can perform Chopin 10/9 for it if you like smile

edit: if 10/9 doesn't qualify for a concert etude, I'll tentatively say that I'll have Chopin 25/12 ready in time (can't believe no one's taken it yet!)
