The Digital "price paid" reports thread has been around since October 2006. In that thread, members have posted information about their digital piano purchases. New/prospective buyers have found this information useful. To make future postings more consistent, I created a template (see below) for all new entries. The moderator and I have agreed: 1. To use this new thread (the one you're now reading) for all new/future "prices paid" postings. Use this one for all new postings. 2. To urge members to use the provided template for their entries. 3. Most dealers/shops are just trying to make an honest living. To stay in business they must maintain a certain percentage profit margin or they will go out of business. Occasionally you may see a price quoted that is extremely low compared to other examples for the same product. Musicians Friend (MF)was running a sale of 20% off purchases >$1000 (just call in and use the code "Workers" - it's not available online, you have to call in). (This seems to be a promo that is run every now and then based on reading past posts here as others have reported the same discount.) However, I actually purchased from Sam Ash Direct (SA) ( www.samash.com) because they matched the MF deal. You have to call in to get the price match. Also, MF had a 'free gift' on their P155's = Yamaha RH5MA headphones. SA said they would match the promo too. Since I already have headphones I asked about swaps and SA allowed me to swap it out with a new Yamaha FC3 pedal which allows for half pedaling (P155 comes with FC4 - no half pedal, I'll use that for soft/una corda). The rep had to ask a supervisor, but since the prices are comparable and the FC3 was in stock and the Yamaha headphones were not, it worked out better for them too so they OK'd it. Also, I was able to put the order through online with the salesman's help so was able to get 5% back through Fatwallet.com, which would be about $50 from this item. I don't think it normally works this way, but for some reason the salesman did so I could place the order online, so I used fatwallet when I completed the transaction. So I effectively paid about $910 for a new P155B with an included FC3 (in addition to the included FC4), free delivery and no tax (note, tax in NY and FL). BTW, I went with SA instead of MF even though the price on the P155 would have been the same primarily to swap out the headphones for the FC3 (I don't think MF would have allowed that) and because SA had some other items that MF didn't carry that I also wanted to get at 20% off.

I just bought my first DP! Thank you to everyone who posts on this forum for your opinions which helped me decide on my new YDP-160! I was originally looking at the Korg LP350 due to the cheaper price tag, $999 compared to $1349, but music123 has a $200 discount which helped seal my decision (for anyone interested it's $200 off any $1000+ Yamaha with the code: YAMAHAOFF and expires 9/30 I believe). I'm having a hard time telling whether I got a good deal, based on the other posts in this thread. However, the lowest price I could negotiate in Atlanta was $2699 + 7% sales tax = $2888. In Seattle I paid $2400 + $170 shipping to Atlanta (via YDC; FedEx quoted over $1k) = $2570, so I did save over $300 over buying it locally.

That’s a lot of work. I have a spreadsheet I keep and it’s in that ballpark too. Some of those prices aren't the Satin Blacks though. This finish, a few I have asked, are somewhere from 3.5 – 3.7k.

I don't like the Roland bench that comes with it and the Dealer swaps. They give me a very nice adjustable one, value around $200. I like the bench as much as the DP.

Was thinking of getting the PX-830 for its look and upgrades but eventually decided to get the PX-130 since they have the same action and I can use a 10% off coupon.
I bought the same thing but instead I price matched with musicians friend and got the Px-130 there because they offered 4 free gifts that that is hopefully worth the extra $29 or so US dollars. Included a double x stand, x stand bench, and two studio headphones. Just thought I'd let you all see CraigsList isn't always a ripoff. Super nice guy sold a Casio PS-20 88 key stage/home digital piano to me for just $200. He bought it new in 2004, opened it and played it once, reboxed it and it sat in storage until I bought it! New old stock; no dust, wear and tear, etc.
The action is decent and the samples aren't state of the art but for $200 I'm not complaining!

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've found much of the information on this forum very useful to help me decide on a DP. I'm very low/poor student with a budget of ~$600 total, figured I'd never get a decent DP for less than $1000. I've been ogling over the Costco web site for a few months now and had my heart set on a PX-130 for $549 inc stand and bench, not bad I thought.... although what I really wanted was the PX-730 at $799 on the site, but it was just too much! Today to my surprise when I went to my local Costco to check out what they had in store I found a PX-730 ...Errrm... I was thinking to myself what have we here...! a PX-730 for $519.  deal of the century... exactly what I wanted  , but better and it exactly fits into my budget (inc tax).
