Hi,

That was absolutely awesome. cool Thanks for posting. I was going to say that I'd give my right arm to be able to play like that, but I guess that wouldn't work.... shocked But I'd sure like to get in the same universe as that one day. Hugely enjoyable. thumb

Cheers,

Chris

Wow, yeah....same here! You are gooooood! I watched your videos the other day but never came back to pay you a compliment. I love how when you're just rockin' along, you can look up and out to the crowd with a slight smile, like "yeah...this ain't no big thang. I'm just having a good time up here"! laugh
You make it look so easy and fun. Thanks for sharing.

Tina

Freed3, great stuff, bro. Very enjoyable videos you posted.

I love this genre of music, and I wanted to know how I could start learning some of this.

Could you briefly describe the training you went through, whether self taught or other, and what pointers you could give me on how to teach myself some of this stuff?

Again, excellent videos.

Be blessed

Psa 33:1-3 ¶ Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings. Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

Ya think God would permit 88 strings?

Hi,

Thanks for the comment.
Well, I play piano for 3 years and boogie for two. I have a great piano teacher, but I learnt my boogie stuff by myself. I listened to a lot of boogie woogie songs and I have got some sheet music.

Cheers,
Freed3

Superb performances.

If you don't mind, where do you get sheet music for songs like that?

Thanks

Rich

I am glad that you liked my performances.

A great site for boogie woogie sheets is:
http://www.colindavey.com/BoogieWoogie/

but the best thing what you can do is to listen to a lot of records and try to find out the riffs yourself.

Cheers,
Freed3

Here is my latest performance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pwsue8hqks

The video was taken at the 18th International Bohém Ragtime & Jazz Festival in Kecskemét (Hungary). The festival was organised by Tamás Ittzés (www.bohemragtime.com). The conception of this year's festival was to invite solists, so this song was an improvisation, we met each other the first time here. It was a great honour for me that I could play with fantastic musicians like:
Jeff Hamilton (USA) - drums
Ad van Beerendonk (NL) - double bass
Herbert Christ (D) - trumpet
Matthias Seuffert (D) - saxophone
Attila Korb (H) - trombone

Hope you like it smile

Bravo!
I live near the Swiss border, very close to Lugano. I know Silvan Zingg and last year I was at the Lugano Boogie Woogie Festival.
I do wish you to be the Ambassador of Boogie Woogie in Hungary, as Silvan is in Switzerland.
P.S. Do you have a MySpace profile? My wife and I would like to be your fiends.
You can find here in my signature the links to our MySpace and our Blog. Unfortunately, they are in Italian, but... there are some pictures too! :-)
