Hey, speaking of the early Apple logos . . . how about a rainbow piano?

When I was in high school I had the Apple bumper sticker on the tailgate of my pickup truck. It had the rainbow Apple logo with a bite out of it and the words "Byte An Apple."

My first computer was an Apple. These days I'm strictly PC (and I'm certainly not the other kind of PC). grin

White pianos cry out for wicker and ferns and a couple of sweet older ladies in sun dresses and big hats would be nice.

Slow down and do it right.

Hi snoopycar,

Why not embed an OLED screen on the piano?
Not only you can change colors,... you can display pictures and even have it double as a computer monitor or an HDTV smile

Seriously though,... maybe this can be done on the music desk,... so it can display sheet music, instructional video, etc.

Regards,

Robert

Well FWIW the Pope wears a white hat,he also plays piano, whether its white black or Vatican vermillion, I do not know.

Actually come to think of I believe the Vatican have Petrof pianos from the former Soviet Block. Curious.

This is what I've wanted for a long time! Think of how cool that would be and how many trees it would save. I just hope it wouldn't crash during a performance or the performer might be in a very, very bad situation.

We live in Florida and have an ivory baby grand. It's beautiful here. My wife wanted black, but really liked the way the white played. She wasn't sure how it would look but absolutely loves it now. Of course, our house is a little "beach-ish" in its colors. When we lived in NJ, we had a black U1.

There are two things I alway keep in mind when I deal with other people or buy things:
1) Everybody else does not see things just the way that I do;
2) I am not usually the only one that sees things as I do.

When applied to your piano dilemma:
1) Not everybody wants to buy/own a white piano;
2) You are not the only one who wants to buy/own a white piano.

Moral of the story:
Get the piano you want and let the wife pick the color she wants. You'll both win and perhaps you can find a nice price on a piece of slow moving stock from a dealer that has been sitting on one for awhile. Maybe it won't be less but maybe it will end up no more than you would pay for other typically lower priced finishes. SEEK AND YOU WILL FIND! Even if you pay a little more it is always nice to get exactly what you want--It is one of the most compelling reasons to buy new.

If you ever decide to sell it there will be someone else who agrees with your tastes! Worst case it may take a little longer to sell but for the person who buys it the white color may well be the deciding factor.

By the way, the color of my piano is_______.....doesn't matter what it is because this piano will be for you and your wife! Good luck with your search!

Indeed. Bottom line: If you want harmony in your home (and not just the musical variety), the white piano is what you want.

I concur 100%. Get the white piano and don't look back.

Finding a white piano for sale is difficult. If you buy brand new, the dealer can order you one. I doubt most dealers have a white piano in inventory. I do know that pianos can be refinished professionally refinished. So you’re choice would be to buy one new and wait some time for the factory to ship it to the dealer, find a white piano for sale used, or find a piano you love and have it professionally refinished in white.
Option 1 is the easiest. Option 2 is very difficult. Even if you find a white piano, heaven only knows if it’s a piano you’ll be happy playing. Option 3 is maybe the most practical. One thing for sure, once you get your white piano better plan on keeping it forever. Best of luck!

This is just me talking, you do have to make your wife happy. I would sit down with your wife and some design software. I would try to show her that a black piano could contrast beautifully with her white design. Maybe a black piano with a black and white rug underneath it. With a large black and white framed huge photograph of pianos.

This was taken just after my backyard DIY paint job. The chrome moldings had not been re-installed yet. The paint job turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. smile

Nice work, Rickster! Did you do that at home, or a tech school?

Yesterday I confused Cordoba with Ranchero (Ford's answer to the El Camino).

I have a '76 Ford Bronco in storage back home. It'll run and I can drive it around, but it hasn't been licensed since about '96 when I left for Switzerland. I've always planned to fix it up "someday." But my Jeep already has 4 wheel drive, plus AC, stereo, air bags, yada yada yada. Why would I want to fix up that old truck? I do, but with each passing year I realize that it's less likely to happen. Certainly have good memories of driving it though... sigh.

One of my favorite cars of all times. There's a custom car place right down the street from my house and they always have at least one of these on display. I've always been afraid to stop in and see how much they want.
