I hope the "piano mover" put a ten in your jar for the jarring interlude.
While playing the organ for our minor league baseball team, a squirrel chose to race from one end of the press box table to the other and across the Hammond C3. It occured during our Nations Anthem. Coffee was spilled, the Official Scorer shreaked, startled gasps, unknown furry assailant etc... I chuckle inwardly hearing "rockets red glare" now; the exact point the squirrel dove into the back of the organ. I didn't miss a beat that time. Here's a toast to drunk tippers!

Sorry --didn't know I was required to.
My apologies if you were offended but I am trying anything and everything right now with what very little time I have --and MY THINKING WAS that when I found something that finally worked, I would then mention it on here.
Also, I only "see" that piano on the weekends as it located quite far from where I live.
Unfortunately, the wedges you referred to are not readily available at places like Home Depot and the like --so BEING AS I AM NOT A TUNER (and highly doubt mine will lend me his), it will take me a bit of time to find them (or order them online, which I was trying to avoid given the time) --until then, i am "improvising" with what IS readily available.
In any event, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUGGESTION!!!
Your sarcasm gives some clues to your personality keypounder, so I'm going to give you a lesson in manners. While you obviously are not REQUIRED to answer anyone, you came on here for advice from people. People, including myself, went out of their way to respond in order to assist you. Where I come from, if someone makes that gesture for me, no matter how insignificant, I would make it my business to thank them for the effort, MINUS the sarcasm. As far as the suggestion I made, I would have expected that to be a starting point for you to have been able to figure out on your own that, even if you could not immediately find rubber tuning wedges, there are many similar items sold at places like Home Depot that are made of similar materials and shapes that could be used in their place......for instance DOOR STOPS!!!! One more thing.....maybe if you'd stop POUNDING on the KEYS, the piano wouldn't move so much!!!

No one required you to do that. You did it out of the "kindness" of your heart, one presumes. Are you so insecure that you have to be "loved" and "Oprah-ized" for any utterance with which you deign to privilege this forum? The only thing you've really gone out of the way for is to be inexplicably self-centered and rude. If your time is so precious and your contributions to the forum so valuable and insightful, one can only presume that your tuning rates are astronomical. Perhaps you shouldn't be wasting your time on the forums but out working. You are not your own best friend with these kinds of posts. Not good advertising.

Ok, I'll jump in and be the "mom". You're right, Rod, let's all play nice. Unfortunately, quite often for someone new on the forum willask a question or make a comment, and then get blasted back to the stone age by someone's response. Being rude just simply makes newcomers shake their heads and wonder just what they've stumbled into and question why they would want to be a member here when they get attacked. Anyone here remember the "Thumper Rule" from the Bambi movie? "If you can't say something nice..." Ok, enough scolding. Some of the responses to this thread have been quite humorous: "jarring interlude", "moving song". hahahaha! Don't be put off by someone grouchy, Keypounder, perhaps CC2 was just having a rough day. Cheers Everyone!

I'll stick up for CC2. He has been VERY helpful to many posters over the years. He has contributed a lot of time and energy as he has done so. He has shared some unusual appointments that he has recently to his pianos as well. He has hosted piano parties for members of PW and opens his home to those interested in his 3 choice pianos. Thank goodness for members that are as generous. For what it's worth, I also thought that the thank you given was riddled with sarcasm. But, Spring is in the air and I'll now go out and play in the garden!

But, Spring is in the air and I'll now go out and play in the garden! I gave you a simple, easy solution to which you did not respond. Please don't ask for help if you can't at least acknowledge people's efforts to assist you. Yes, the response from keypounder had a note of sarcasm but it was in response to CC2's 2nd note in the thread (above) in which he virtually demanded acknowledgement and gratitude for his first word of advice. I can't say with certainty that I wouldn't have responded as did keypounder. If everyone offered a solicitous, syruppy acknowledgement for every 29-word contribution in the forum, we would be awash in sugar and spice and everything nice. And the threads would be twice the length they are now. I reviewed some of CC2's other recent posts and these 2 did seem out of character. Maybe M.O.P. is correct and CC2 is just having a bad day.

Uh... think I'm gonna keep quiet on this -lol Thank you everyone for your input!! (on both matters -lol). After seeing the piano this past weekend, I've decided that pretty much the ONLY thing that's gonna work is... (drumroll please) CASTER CUPS! --yeah, that's right I know I said there was no way for me to use them, but I'm gonna have to find a way --with a "slick/glossy" concrete floor there's not much else I can see working --in fact, I'm looking at having to either get rubber ones or these. As well, there's also this thingie which is specifically made to lift the piano to place caster cups under it --it ain't cheap though. I'll find a way though. Thanks again everyone!!

Um... OK. Pink bubblegum, well-chewed, with Skoal for coloring. Place discreetly. Allow one hour to set up.
No need to thank me.
Consider it a contribution to the industry. Regards Mike

As it turns out, Mike, one of our bartenders DOES actually chew Skoal --so I think we're definitely good there --problem is, he doesn't start chewing till THE END of the night --but I'll see what I can do.
And I can see to the bubblegum myself --in fact, what I'm even thinking is to chew a lot of it, and begin sticking it UNDER the piano (a la movie seats) to preserve it for future nights.
That --and if that drunk guy should show up again, it can also be used to stick on his back/hair/shoe --he'll never notice.

I'll say three things on this, and then let it go. 1. I'm happy you found your solution KeyPounder 2. Thanks for your support Lilylady 3. rodmichael, I wasn't having a bad day. I can almost guarantee that, had we been standing face to face, you would not have had the impulse, or desire, to say the things that you have. I do not crave, nor do I expect, "solicitous, syruppy acknowledgement", just some indication that the poster gave my suggestion the same consideration as others. I will let my record speak for itself.

Just wanted to follow up with everyone in case anyone else here finds themself in a similar predicament. Caster cup-wise, I ended up going with these, since they work PERFECTLY on a slippery concrete floor. But here's the part I'm REALLY proud of coming up with --and, of course, my concern in the first place with regards to lifting the piano without assistance-- instead of going with that other thing that cost a billion dollars, I found this, which worked PERFECTLY (I bought a rubber cane tip for the tip of the jack). Thanks again everyone for your input!!
