I have a Casio px320... have had it for about 10 months now. Now that I've gotten settled in I'm looking for an amp that will make it sound more like a piano. I have headphones which make it sound better than the on-board speakers. but i do know that it can sound better with an amp.

I searched the forum and found nothing, so looking for some suggestions.

I can spend about $300. Not sure if that can make it sound way better.

thanks

Not quite sure what you're asking for here. Are you looking for a headphone amp? If not, you would need both an amp _and_ speakers (or powered speakers). Just an amp by itself would not be useful (again, unless you're referring to a headphone amp).

I'm looking for an amp. I was under the impression that an amp with make it sound better.

So amp won't do anything?

if not what improve the sound of the dp. if anything.

The DP already has an amplifier and speakers, right?

If you want better sound, you'll need both an amplifier and external speakers. An amplifier without speakers won't do anything.

A keyboard Amp won't make the piano sound much better, unfortunately. They are made for use on a loud stage and the sound is not refined.
And you need two to get stereo sound.

A pair of active studio monitors will greatly improve the sound of your piano though!
It's hard to make an advise about make and model, because they are a lot of models available!

Here are some examples:
Alesis Monitor 1 Active MKII Powered Monitors
M-Audio Studiophile LX4 2.1 Expandable Surround Sound Monitoring System
Fostex PM0.5 MKII Active Nearfield Studio Monitors

Peace.

I think the OP doesn't understand sthe special meaning of the term "keyboard amp". Rather, he's thinking about "an amp for the keyboard".

yeah I'm looking for an external amp to improve sound quality. Like what Richard said.

Sorry about the confusion.

The responses to my query about guitar amps and keyboard amps may be helpful to you.
