Hi all

I was just wondering if there is much change from the YDP s30 in this model (YDP s31) and does anyone know a rough idea of when it will be ready for sale in the UK and for how much?

The YDP-s30 really did sound authentic to my ears, and because of this, I have started saving for it.

Then again the Korg LP-350 reminds me very much of the YDP-s30/31 design, but I prefer the YDP-s31 if I'm honest.

it's pretty much the same as s30, except adding half-pedal and 1-track recording capacity. however it's not as good as YDP140 functionally.

Thanks!

Basically, I'm after the sound of an acoustic piano. So after hearing the YDP-s30, it did sound pretty convincing to my ears. It's also a very good looking DP, I like the design.

The korg LP-350 however looks nearly the same, but the silver touches really spoil it in my opinion. I would of much loved to see that DP in walnut or natural looking wood just like the YDP.

What about korg LP-350 sound though, compared to YDP-s31? smile

I have a YDP S30 and I'm struggling to see any difference in the specs of the S31 at all.Contrary to a previous poster the S30 does have a one track recorder and half damper effect, or at least mine does anyway. The only thing that I can think of is that they may have altered the design of the pedal unit which for me is unsatisfactory on the S30 and definately needs changing.

YDPS30 has a 3-step sustain pedal, which means 'half-pedal' has only 1 middle point but not continuous half-pedal as other models. S31 basically replaced S30's 3-step pedaling with half-pedal as on YDP140 and above models. sorry, i was wrong about lack of recording function on S30.

This continuous half-pedal improvement would be well worth having in my experience.Apart from that, it's a very capable little piano for the money.
