Does anyone know what kind of cable I need in order to be able to plugin an amplifier to the Yamaha S90ES? If so, anything else I should think about concerning this synthesizer?

Thanks!

Yours
AYE

I believe you need "Balanced" cables, not the guitar cables which are unbalanced.

jazzwee is correct, balanced cable.

however beware. Most synth piano samples are stereo samples. You can't just take a stereo piano sample and run it out of a mono output and expect it to sound right. This is because the signals phase relationships will cancel and you will end up with unflattering sound.

Do yourself a favor and purchase a set of quality monitors or speakers. Even something like M-Audio BX8a's would be nice.

The S90ES is an incredible instrument, one of the best piano actions of any synth out there for sure, and the samples in it are super.

I play a Kurzweil K2600XS, but envy the S90ES for many things it shines at.

Just go to any website like Sam Ash,Musicians Friend etc... Buy instrument cables used for guitar or Keyboard..If you want stereo then buy 2 cables and two amps.I just did a gig this past weekend with a piano player using the S90ES and thought he sounded great in mono. The real trick is getting more watts behind your sound to give the synth sounds more body.More power doesn't necessarily mean louder just fuller.that is called having overhead. For home enjoyment get stereo monitors as suggested but for live gig applications most guys go mono.
