Perhaps this article from the Guardian newspaper will be of interest; needless to say, it's atypical for piano technicians to receive much notice at all in the media, much less to see this kind of visibility and respect. Every little bit helps.

That's a nice article and very helpful for our industry.

In the USA, one can write a press release and send it to the local paper or magazine. They may send a photographer/reporter out for an interview. Highlight something interesting about your business and the paper will likely print it. Good advertising for you as a tuner, and good for the business in general.

Wonderful article....
Well deserved...
Ulrich was very generous with his time when I popped in, unannounced, to the Steinway and Sons store in London back in January.
He showed me the piano he was working on and we swapped stories...a class act indeed.
Thanks for sharing Allen

Cheers from Redwood City, CA

Ulrich will be one of the featured instructors at the west coast regional ptg conference in Seattle in March of 2010. Put it on your calendars now! It's going to be a terrific conference. The Pacific NW region and California state have combined their conference organizations to put on a bigger, better, conference.

Maybe I'll see you there!

Coming to this one a bit late but very good article, I would agree with Bob, this type of thing is very helpful for our technical field. Good article for the industry in general.

Thanks for the posting Allen,

Ulrich Gerhartz was very helpful to me, by recommending to me a technician who had particular experience with Bluthners. Thanks again Allen for asking Ulrich on my behalf.
