Some of the threads on page one are dated 2005, 2006 etc... and nobody posted in them for years!!! So how can they be on page 1? Or am i crazy?

You're not crazy- it's happening everywhere. You can temporarily fix it by changing the "display options" at the bottom of the page, but the changes don't stay upon your return. There's a glitch somewhere. Hopefully Frank is on it.

Ok there is something seriously wrong. I posted this and 2 minutes later i could not find this thread on first 2 pages. I had to use search option.

Btw, thanks for advice.

Looks like the forum need another update:)

I believe that each forum as a "default sort order" option that the administrator (Frank) sets. As shipped, I think UBB uses thread title as the default sort order. Frank has gone in and changed a few of the forums to be "last post date" but hasn't gotten to all of them yet. Patience, it'll be "sorted" out soon.

Another way to correct this :

Go to the page for each Forum - not at the top of the thread's page, however - you will see the right column heading "Posted" at the top of the page with a small arrow pointing either up or down. Clicking on the arrow will toggle between up and down, which means the threads will be toggled between ascending and descending dates.

Try to be patient with these glitches. This must be an enormous task and there are bound to be a few inconsitencies that have to be ironed out.

Regards,

I'm starting to get used to the new forum. I wanted to keep my original avatar, which was an hourglass, but I couldn't find it on the list so I had to change it. The new design seems to hurt my eyes. There's not enough contrast, looks too busy. Otherwise, things seem to be working better nowadays. (I just tried to preview my reply and nothing happened...oh well..)

best regards,
Valerie

Try the new style that's called "coffee". It's incredibly easy on the eyes for me. And your post preview no longer opens in a popup window; it's below the text box. wink

Valerie,

There are currently 7 different styles to choose from.
You may find a look you really like.

At the bottom of the page, where it probably says:
ubbthreads_stock now, click the arrow and choose one of the other styles.

There's a little something for everyone here (and more coming).

Frank, while you're here, would it be possible to enable HTML like you did for the Piano Forum? I wanted to embed some videos earlier and couldn't since HTML is off. smile

The markup menu below the text box still shows only UBB for me. And the "quick reply" clearly says that HTML is disabled.

Thank you Frank and Horowitzian. I just found the preview on the bottom and I changed to the "coffee" design. Tomorrow I'll take a look at the "full reply screen." Good luck with the changes.

Sounds like you need a rest, mate. crazy Great job on the new forums, though. I'm liking the way they are shaping up with the styles and new features.
