Spiders are software programs that "crawl" around the web and search for keywords to build databases, commonly for search engines. That's how Google for example knows which webpage to refer you to when you type in a search keyword.

Spiders are air-breathing chelicerate arthropods that have eight legs, and chelicerae modified into fangs that inject venom. In their bodies the usual arthropod segments are fused into two tagmata, the cephalothorax and abdomen, joined by a small, cylindrical pedicel. In all except the most primitive group, the Mesothelae, spiders have the most centralized nervous systems of all arthropods, as all their ganglia are fused into one mass in the cephalothorax. Unlike most arthropods, spiders have no extensor muscles in their limbs and instead extend them by hydraulic pressure.

Glad to know all that about spiders. Sounds like a discourse I heard about soy beans while we drove past miles and miles of them.

What would be an example of an unmodified chelicerae?

My reply is OT. All my old posts have shown up in the margin on the left, so I'm trying to see if I post "fresh" on the new forums if the same thing happens.

Okay, seems to be working. It must just be something about the transfer of my old posts to the new system.
