I was going to write a sonata, but what I wanted to write before I wrote it wasn't the same as the end product, so I haven't named it yet... I basically notated some ideas I had with a structure. Not totally happy with it (especially the ending) but there you go.

And it is in Finale format.

YOu might get more responses if you could convert it to MP3.

I agree. Hit us with a piano recording of the piece.

Best, John

My piano teacher recorded it for me over the weekend, as I need to submit a recording with my coursework! He did a great job, although I don't always agree with his interpretation wink

It's a Rondo in form (but not stylistically), I see it as A-B-A-C-A1-B-A2-coda, but its a little too free I think.

did u say its part of a Sonata?
sounds to me like a folk tune, may be the way ur teacher played, i will have to look at the score to see if there are any original harmonic or melodic ideas. couldnt hear one

"I was going to write a sonata, but.."

As I said, I started off with the intention of writing a piece in sonata form, but I decided not to and try something different.

And I'm not sure what you mean in the second part - I didn't use any folk tunes, and I'm pretty sure all of the harmonic and melodic ideas are original and not plagerised confused

You can open it with Finale Notepad - it's free and you can download it from http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/default.aspx
