I fell into it rather naturally, of course
in a childish way around the age of 7, a few
months after I started piano lessons.
Whats your story?

I composed my first piece when I was about 13 - a sonatina in the style of Mozart. It's almost painful to look back on it as it was really not good, but you have to start somewhere. Actually, the second movement had some decent ideas in it, but that was about it...

What you are is an accident of birth. What I am, I am through my own efforts. There have been a thousand princes and there will be a thousand more. There is one Beethoven.

Impressive! A Sonatina! I loved Clementi's
sonatinas, especially number 1.
Raced through it like I was going to a fire!
Ha Ha. Drove my teacher crazy.

Started improvising around 15-16, but didn't start composing until I came back to the piano around 22 (so, last year). wink

Every day we are afforded a new chance. The problem with life is not that you run out of chances. In the end, what you run out of are days.
