Hi everyone. Since this is a composer's lounge, I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm working on completing my debut CD. Please visit my website http://www.MichaelLogozar.com and have a listen (if you have a high-speed internet connection). I'm streaming the music on there for free.

... always looking for feedback.

Best regards,
Michael Logozar

A very nice piece and quite musical. What was the instrument that was used for the recording? Accoustic or Digital? Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi Rick. Actually that's just a Roland A90 controller to drive "The Grand" by steinberg on my PC. Software is getting good enough to use these days. Occasionally I won't be happy with the way it "expresses" but then because it's midi I have the option of tweaking the velocity settings after the fact.

Hi RickG, since you said you were looking for feedback...

I did my first piano album digitally. It recieved nothing but good reviews and compliments from anyone who bought it and came into contact with me. I'm working on a second album and I am taking out studio time to record this one. Digital piano's and programs like steiny's 'the grand' have come a long way. I think in recordings that are NOT solo piano albums the other instruments fill in the sound so much that you can barely notice that a digital piano is being used. But when it comes to solo piano, there is a magical combination of the instrument and the room it is played in that lends a fullness that just can not be duplicated in a digital instrument.

When I listen to my album, I wish I had gone into the studio to do it. Other people may not have the critical ears that I do, and maybe they can't hear what I am hearing (or more properly stated, what I am NOT hearing)and while I am proud of the album, it's a bit of a bummer that I wish I had done it differently. Just so you know, this isn't coming from a 'digital basher', I own cubase sx and have a small project studio that I record bands in and the leaps that are being made in digital music and recording are amazing. Actually, you can test this yourself now that I think about it. Burn one of your songs to disc, then grab a favorite piano album and A/B them on some good monitors and that should also give you an idea of the difference to expect in sound qualtiy.

Good luck and I like the site!

Damn...those songs are excellent. Loved the 'orchard hill' right from the first note.

Indeed, this piano piece is very nice, I love it and also the piano sound - The Grand from Steinberg is in fact sampled from the Kawai Concert Grand Piano.

... I should mention, the new track is using "The Grand 2" ... I've downsampled the mp3's though as people we're consuming too much of my bandwidth, so the actual fidelity of the files aren't as good, but the ambience of the track is still there.

...correction again, it's track number 5 not 6.
It's called Autumn Rain.
