I am still hunting for a Bach and a Gounod youtube video of Ave Maria...

but look at what I stumbled upon while searching for your Ave Maria's... it is a stunning video of Ave Maria is by Giulio Caccini sung by a boys choir with lots of strings. Please have a listen... it's beautiful.

I thought I heard over the radio that this is now the #1 tune; I dunno. I like White Christmas better myself.

White Christmas does not do it for me; probably because of knowing what kind of person B Crosby was and that he was not there for the kids of his first family.

Irving Berlin wrote White Christmas... I like the song regardless of who has made the tune famous. It is a well crafted tune.

excerpt lyrics...

The sun is shining
The grass is green
The orange and the palm trees sway...
There's never been such a day,
In Beverly Hills L.A.

But it's December the 24th
And I'm longing to be up north....

Also the song has been covered well by others besides Bing. Just a thought to consider.

Wolfindmist,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Okay, to answer your question, my favorite Christmas song would be "Oh Holy Night."

The modern ones I enjoy:

Feliz Navidad
Happy Christmas (John Lennon)
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
Silver Bells

and the list goes on. I realize that Feliz Navidad doesn't have much in lyrics, but it is such a happy tune.

ILM

That was interesting...
I liked the part where the train derails off the mountain top... I didn't know Queen did a Christmas tune until now.
