Norbert: Yep, I do have a M&H BB which is a wonderful instrument and I do prefer it to the Estonia, but fair is fair, and the Estonia performs beautifully. I think I mentioned in a previous post (another 'thread') that some students from the local college prefer my Estonia to the 9 ft Yamaha in the auditorium of the school. I must compliment you on your memory to recall that I also have the M&H BB. The cheaper Horugel is now in good shape too with regulation accomplished and new Ronsen hammers which have evened out the sound wonderfully.

I've lived with my Estonia for 17 months now and I couldn't be happier. It has not had one wild note or weird buzz, twang, zing or anything. It holds it's tune wonderfully and I play the heck out of it. On a bad day I still get in 1 to l l/2 hours and on many, many good days it's 2-3 and I've been known to put in 5-6 hours/day.

First time my tech came to tune it he was in awe of it's quality and the way it was put together. He spent 4 hours pointing out little details that he thinks are great. "Wow, look at this, you only see this on pianos like......" Direct quote. I can't imagine where the overburdened with warranty issues remark comes from.

I had mine for 20 months now. It's been played at least 2 hours a day. No problem either, only had 4 regular tunings. On the second free tuning, the tech fixed sostenuto pedal which was not functioning right and lubricated sustain pedal to get rid off the squeaky sound.

Thank you all for your informative input. It's great to have such a well informed and "dare I say" smart group of people from which to gather opinions.

Climber :

Keep in mind that many of us (sensitive?) Estonia owners are very prejudiced in favour of our instruments. But, then, like many people who own certain products because they like (love?) them, we think we have reason to be.

Which doesn't mean smart people would be able to *complain* - if they'd have reason to!

Wondering what category one needs to put those techs in who did all the original complaining about Estonia to you.....

Norbert shocked
