Axtremus:
With two days to go before the deadline I'm wondering how we are doing.

Have you recieved all the submissions?
90%?
50%?

45 people signed up.
How many people/pieces do we, or will we, have?

Are they mostly Audio CDs?
MP3s?

I am under the impression that we are compiling two products.
One will be a multi-CD set of everything submitted.
The other will be one or two CDs of selected pieces.
How will the selections be made?
By a vote from the submitting members?
Form all PW members?

How about financing?
Are submitters supposed to send a check?
How much?
To Franks address or yours?
Or will this be funded by sales?

I feel like I'm the only one who has yet to submit the promised recording!

I just bought (actually, about two weeks ago), a multitrack recorder and mics. Thanks to the demands of the season, work, family, etc., all I've accomplished so far is reading the manual! I'll try to record tomorrow. I don't know if it'll work (plus, I had hoped to have the piano freshly tuned, but that didn't happen...).

I supposed if I don't get a decent recording done tomorrow, it's no disaster, but it'd be nice to have a few extra days to get the recording done and downloaded to the computer. Is the December 31 deadline absolute? Is any kind of extension possible???

I submitted my recording a while ago, and judging by the list, there were a few others as well.

All I have to do is send my release form to Frank now, but everything else is done.

Not sure if I'll make the deadline, as I have a lot of construction going on at home right now, and the logistics of coordinating that, plus work, is taking all my energy.
If the deadline is extended a couple weeks past its already more than generous alottment of time, I might be able to make it.

I think we definitely have enough material to fill one Audio CD right now. As for the % of completed submission versus declared/intended submission, I haven't count, but I will count them soon.

I'll also follow-up with the $funding$ issue later, just like to take stock of what's actually submitted before spitting out another cost estimate.

Every one have a Happy New Year! smile

Axtremus,

I downloaded the file to the Frank's download page last night -- I least I think I did! I just checked to see if it was there, and it wasn't...I did see another December 30 submission, though.

Can you determine if it's there or if I need to download it again?

Thanks.

My white flag is rising. I have looked around for a replacement for my recording devise, but they trade on Ebay for as much used as they did new. I don't know other gear and have otherwise been saddled much like Phlebas with home projects, kids, etc.

I have been "once throughing" my stuff. About the only way of getting something soon would be if Axtremus had some time and wanted to get together with his new set-up wink

FWIW
I saved time and hired a pro to bring equipment and record me in my house.
It was not expensive or time consuming.

She was at my house for 2.5 hours and spend another 2.5 hours mastering.
Total bill: $125.

Result was 11 minutes of material.
Although we did several takes, we didn't edit out any wrong notes or splice together pieces.

It was tempting.
It would have sounded better, but I wanted my submission to be more true to life.

All I've submitted so far is a single test recording that isn't even very good. I better get on those recording!!! Thanks for the reminder.
