The music stand looks like Vogel from their website.

Yup. Vogel. The distance between the E and the next letter, the music desk, no brass socks. It all fits. V177T

DOH!

Ok it's not a Wagner because the typeface is wrong.

It's not a CozEy Writer stencil because he doesn't allow e-word finishes

The E is the correct typeface for Vogel (sanz the underline) which (also) doesn't rule out Schimmel!

But Schimmel has a darker interior.

So based on MarkJ's detective work, my second guess is a Vogel 177

This is more fun than Sew Duck Cue (as they call it down south.)

Inspiration is the act of pulling a chair up to the writing desk.
Pramberger JP-185 (a 6'1" mahogany-red Grand)+ Glenn Gould-ish piano chair (no cushion)

I think my 4-year-old has the same gene as the guy who wanted to see undersides of pianos a few months ago...

Maybe I can start a new thread called "Guess that Star Trek episode"... this thread has eerie similarities...

Just as much fun:

Digging out my old sheet music from the late 70s and 80s. Some real cringe-inducing music selections.

My favorite so far has been "Shakedown Cruise" by Jay Ferguson. I might even take a picture of some of the ones that had my wife and I laughing the hardest!

Guess I haven't played much past 80s retro...

and I was JUST yesterday thinking that it's time to find a transcription of the 80s version of "The Locomotion."

It was featured in one of those K-Tel commercials of the era. (The commercial came up on my ipod as I was driving cross-state and I was "boogying" through Winston Salem, NC.)

Thanks for the tread, btw. That was the Most fun, while sitting here watching it sprinkle snow on azalea blossoms.

Congratulations on your new piano! Looks like there's another budding pianist crawling under the piano - it's important to know how it all works!

Congratulations, startover player, and thanks for the fun thread! I'm just sorry I got to it too late to take a guess.

I love the photo of your son peeking under the piano. But, looking at the photo before that one, don't you think you're starting him off on some awfully advanced material? laugh

Congratulations startover player. It's a beauty! thumb

Buy some good stock and hold it till it goes up, then sell it. If it don't go up, don't buy it.
