Hi,

I have a Yamaha YDP 131 digital piano in rosewood and I'm looking for piano bench that matches the wood colour. Yamaha make a matching piano bench for about £70 but it isn't height adjustable. I'm concerned that I'll be told it's the wrong height for my body. I found a make called Stagg that do decent priced rosewood benches (http://www.totalmusicsupply.com/Models.aspx?PartnerID=2&ModelID=100514) but I'm concerned it won't match the wood of my Yamaha (is "rosewood" a standard colour on all pianos?).

I'm about 6ft tall. The Yamaha bench is 51cm high. I've tried sitting at this high at the piano; my feet sit parallel to the ground, my elbows are horizontal to the floor in playing position and it feels comfortable. Should I go for the fixed height matching bench or try to find an adjustable?

I'm trying to find a xmas present to ask for. smile

Thanks.

Beauty is skin deep. Comfort and good posture will improve your playing. I'd go for an adjustable, even if it doesn't match the rosewood.

Here's a nice selection for < $100 US. Don't know if they're available in the UK though.

I found this bench...It's rosewood but the top is velvet black.

B/c you should have to sacrifice comfort for style (or is it the other way around?)

Hi!
I don't want to start a new topic so I'll ask here. I bought a Kawai CN29 rosewood piano. I am looking for a bench that will match the color. I am thinking of the Roland RPB-220 RW. Does anyone know if colour will match?
I'll be grateful for answer.

Hi Auror, welcome to PW!

I would say it's actually probably better to start a new thread. However, this forum is for the discussion of learning how to play the piano. I recommend you post your question in a new thread, either in the Piano Forum, which is for discussion about all things related to the instrument itself, or in the Digital Piano Forum, which, as you might guess, is about digital pianos.

Good luck!

My clavinova came with a non-adjustable bench and while it matched the piano well I wanted a height adjustable one. I ended up buying one from Exemplar http://exemplarfg.ca/product/the-classic-adjustable-height-music-chairbench/ which fits beautifully. I have been very pleased with it both with how it looks as well as the overall quality.

Yamaha CLP-735. Playing piano since 2/2021.
