I do not have the best ear skills when it comes to playing by ear. So I thought to put this to the crew. I am currently playing "Carrie" by Europe (80's hair band / rock ballad).

The first line of music is:

Europe - Carrie - First Line

My issue is with the 16th notes in the third measure. It doesn't sound right

The actual song played by the band is here:
You Tube of Europe playing "Carrie"

and even when people on you tube play it sounds like the band:

Some Guy on You Tube playing Carrie Intro

I cant make out what that guys fingers are doing but its not whats in that sheet.

Can someone make this out, I would like it to be just like the band plays it, and I think the sheet music is not correct.

Hi Signal,
Sadly sheet music if often inaccurate-or at least not written exaclty how the song is recorded.
When I want to learn a song from you tube I will figure it out little by littly by watching what they do. If you can't see exactly what note they are playing you can figure it out by how it sounds. You seem to have a good ear so you will be able to do this. When I have a section right sometimes I will jot down what notes they are so I dont forget and can refer to them later. It's alot of pause and play, pause and play and might require some patience. But, it is worth it in the end because you will be pleased that you can play it smile good luck
