We have an opening in the Chopin Nocturne recital to go live on Oct 17, 2009. It's 9/3. It's also rated a grade 10. If you dare - - -

If no one else is interested—and if I can be permitted two entries—I'd love to do it.

I think trying to conquer that danged B section would teach me a lesson. smile

I'm inspired by the poetic title epigram of Henselt's Op. 2 No. 1 etude: "Storm, thou canst not subdue me!"

Or so I hope. cool

It's yours, Braveheart. I gave it a little thought myself and then crawled back under my nice safe warm rock.

I wouldn't mind having a go at this one.I've always loved it but never had the patience to overcome the difficulties for the left hand in the agitato section.

I'm sorry, Timmy. The nocturne is already spoken for for the nocturne recital. If you look at our Mazurka Marathon thread you'll see that there are several marzurkas unspoken for. The next Mazurka recital goes live March 1sth=, 2009 which I imagine is too late but the last one will go live March 1st, 2010.

Thanks for the offer but I never could get enthusiastic about the mazurkas for some reason.Maybe I'll bag a nocturne the next time around.

We're also having a players choice recital for the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birthday. Any piece or genre of his music will be welcome - that will also go live on March 1st 2010. Maybe you could aim a submitting 9/3 to that one.

Frycek-
I hadn't heard anything about this. Will there be the same constraints, of one performer per piece?

Nothing's been posted yet about it. Right now it's just a gleam in MaryRose's and my eyes. We haven't discussed that aspect of it yet with each other or the forum. I think though perhaps there should be a sign up. What do you think? Maybe we could start a list on March 1st?

Sure- I think it's a very nice idea-
That would be a good time to start a list, or at least put the idea out.
