Is Op. 24 No. 4 taken? Maybe I'll do it if it is not taken.

I'll have a go at Op.68 no.1 if it hasn't been spoken for. That seems to finish up the Op.68 set.

I'm currently in love with 33/2. That doesn't mean I'm sure to do it, but I think it'll be safe to assume so.

Anyway, I'd much rather be in the Philosophically Provoking, Powerfully Puzzling Polonaise Practicing/Playing Persistence Proof

Or be playing 6.1, that's really the only one that I actually like.

Hi all: And I do mean ALL! smile

I have updated the list up to and including Chardonnay's request. So far, no repeats. If you mentioned more than one, I put you down for your first choice. If you thought you might, I put you down as a definite. Just let me know if this changes.

As always, we want this to be an enjoyable and stimulating experience.

Should or if the time comes when you want "out," absolutely NO PROBLEM. Again, just let me know and I'll put your mazurka on the "available" list.

Regards,
Kathleen

Kathleen (and all),
Sorry but I must withdraw my request for 63/1 because it is not what I thought it was: it is mis-numbered (mis-named?) on my CD! bah

What I thought was 63/1 is actually 63/3, which is taken already frown
So, I'll put in my bid for 33/3.
Sorry for the confusion!
C.

Everyone who has posted a preference, has it. Schubertian, I am putting you down for your second choice and Ragnhild, the same. Let me know if this is OK.

Thanks,
Kathleen
Now I've changed my mind! I want to do Op 30 #3 instead! Give me that or I"ll have another tantrum like before

Oops - I screwed up - I really did mean Op 30 #4

I promise not to post anything here again until March, or whenever this recital is.

Kathleen, as far as I can see I'm the only one who has asked to play one of the op 41 Mazurkas, I was hoping, If I have to choose only one that I could have some more time to look at them before I decide.

If not, I choose 41.4 which is usually played as number one of the four. (and in February I might be out of my mind beacuse it's too hard... wink )

And, everybody, please notice, I did not ask for Op 17 no 4 even if it's special to me....... laugh

Hey...Cruiser: So glad! yippie

Ragnhild: I just put you down for Op. 41 because the numbers were getting too confusing. So whichever one you chose, will be fine. You have first "crack" at any of them.

Schubertian: I made the change.

NOW...WHERE IS THIS LIST??

I have created one and it is on the very first page of this thead. And please know I wrote it out with only one cup of coffee in me, and it's about 5 in the morning. So please be kind if I made any mistakes (but I think it's accurate and up to date so far). Of course, let me know otherwise.

THE LIST OF MAZURKAS/PERFORMERS

And once again, if you change your mind, let me know...no problem.

And, some of you said you were very interested but did not indicate which mazurka, so I didn't include your name. We'll wait until you come to a decision.

Again, I am thrilled that we have so many interested at such an early date.

Just a suggestion that I found invaluable while learning to play the prelude for the Prelude Recital. START IN EARLY IN PRACTICING! Even if the piece is relatively short. As in almost all of Chopin's music, looks can be deceiving, especially with the mazurkas.

Let me know if you have any particular questions about your mazurka or post them so others might help you with the answer.

I am going to spend then next two days trying to record my prelude...my battle with the red dot is about to begin, mad so I will not be on the forum for a couple of days. But keep posting.

Regards to everyone smile

Oooh, good choice Frycek, I was just looking at that one.

OK, put me down for Op 17 No 2 please. (OMG what am I saying?)

okay, having tried 68.1 - it's not grabbing me. Could I switch to
Op. 6 No.2 please. Too many choices....

I'm with you Kathleen - still need to record my prelude before starting something new.

By the way, I did ask for 67/4 in the second post in the thread though you said there was no repeats (not that I mind if someone else takes it).

And I could do any leftovers that might need filling.

Theoretically on Chopin's birthday, March 1, 2008. Think we can do it? I don't think anyone is expecting us to cover all the mazurkas this round, probably about a third of them.
