Cathy,

Ditto Classicalgirl...the chest is beautiful! If I was a bettin' girl I'd bet your friend could get plenty of business from the PW members. Think he'd be interested?

But what I want to know is, where did you get the "music" on the wall? I'd love to have something like that. Seems to me that I've seen another one similar in somebody's pic here in PW; Plays maybe?

Not, Plays. Derick has the same thing or something very similar on the wall over the tail of his Boesendorfer, with American southwest pottery paintings along the wall parallel to the long side.

I really like that music cabinet too. Hobby Lobby is selling some quite like that. I looked at them. Not so badly priced either.

Well I know my buddy would love the business but he ordered bubinga wood so I wouldn't necessarily call it a deal. But if anyone is interested I can PM you his contact info.

Rick - I was gonna say the same thing I noticed the music staff in Derick's photo too. I looked online and saw it there but actually I found one for a bit less at one of the local furniture stores.

BTW - I guess I should give hubby credit for the paint he's been a painting madman just finished our entryway today.

Very envy on all the grand pianos and nice surroundings you all have that make our upright seems so small and space very tight laugh [Linked Image]

Luckychwee,

All things in time. You have a piano - looks to be a very nice one, not to mention your beautiful daughter to play it too.. .. which makes you very lucky indeed!

Uh, Cindy, I believe we were promised pictures? Are we supposed to say something like "Please, Mistress Cindy, May I have another?"

Stop practicing and start posting!

It's great to see everyone's pianos. All are beautiful no matter how big or small because there's a piano there to enjoy.

Here are a couple of updated pictures of my piano area. Some of you may remember me as having a pool in the room, torn out for something more important! I'd like to eventually have some music-related artwork. I also have my digital piano and my desk/computer in the room.

Was your piano rebuilt by Fandrich and Sons? Can you tell us about it.. ? The room is so pretty. I just love it.

The room came out very nice - I really like the handy shelf; you can just reach over and grab the music you need.

sleepingcats - I really like the colour of those walls.

Luckychwee - I'm envious of people with grands too, but I'm also envious of people with uprights that are taller than a person sitting in front of it.

sleepingcats, your room is nice, too. I had a friend in Canada whose music room walls were about that color - very calming and peaceful!

Sleepingcats,

Very nice. We have a similar color on our walls. Really looks good with a black piano.

Looks blue in the photo but it's really a light green.

Keep a song in your heart!

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I love the calmness of my room too (except for the clutter at my desk).

Apple,

My Fandrich & Sons started out as a brand new Dongbei 6'1" high-polished grand. The Fandrichs removed the innards and made a lot of improvements/changes such as their key-weighting system, changing the hammers to Ronsen-Wurzen, changing the bass strings to Arledge, re-doing the pedal/lyre system and others. I had them refinish the piano to a satin finish as well. You can see more detailed info on what they change on their website:
