1,001 without the comma = 9 in the land of one's and zeros.

Haven’t posted in this forum in a while, so I figure this thread could always use one more post.

I am one proud mom tonight as my son was named MVP of his tee ball game, on the basis of a brilliant fielding play in the outfield where he stopped what looked like a sure home run and held the runner to first base.

...but the best play of the night was our superstar first baseman, who made a TRIPLE PLAY single-handedly (caught a pop fly, tagged first before the runner could get back there, then ran all the way across the diamond to tag 3rd before THAT runner could get back). He should've been MVP but he's already won it, and the coach likes to rotate the honor.

Tee ball is a riot. smile

Okay, so I go away for one lousy vacation, and when I come back the "1" thread is on the second page!! eek

We had a great time, but I couldn't find a piano anywhere in the Badlands and suffered terrible piano withdrawal. And Starbucks withdrawal, too.

Oh, boy, am I glad Monica Kern posted this back into existance. I just joined in June and totally missed it. What fun! 39 pages of fun!

loveschopintoomuch wrote in "Ow - Shoulder Pain" on 6/23/07: "Artur Rubenstein is like a zombie at the keyboard. No outward signs of emotion. However at a certain section in Grieg's piano concerto, he did raise his right eyebrow about 1 centimeter."

So, I tried it: it's my left eyebrow that lifts, I cannot move my right one. Then I asked someone and they can't lift either eyebrow separately, only together. What do you think this means?

The question: when you life one eyebrow, which one is it?

I joined this forum during the lull in this thread. I am glad it came back to the top of the list for just long enough for me to catch it.

Now I have to think of something that makes a reference to 1 - oh wow, there, just did it! whome

Glad to be part of this crazy group - and I mean that as a compliment!

I checked the "Piano Forum" the other day and a different user started a "1" thread on that forum. It was started a few days ago. However this '1' forum is the original one. I think a few users could not find this one so they started one in the
"Piano Forum" instead.

That thread is but a pale imitation of this one, to which nothing can compare. laugh

Betty, I am like you; I can only lift my left eyebrow, not my right. I wonder if it has anything to do with hemispheric dominance. I'm left-handed; are you?

I can lift both eyebrows together and independantly; plus I can burp on command.

Beat that ONE! eek

I can't lift either eyebrow independently at all. I have to learn from Mr. Spock.

As for burping on demand, I think I'll skip that 1.

I love this silliness!

Monica Lane:
I love it that you have all the right words - hemispheric dominance. I agree it's something like that, but why? No, I'm right handed but two of my 5 children were LH. Their father is RH and he is the one who can only raise both eyebrows.

mr_super-hunky:
You have this aced! I'm impressed with your versatility. Now, add, limbs - arms, hands, legs, feet for Rhythm - Rhythm Helps Your Two Hips Move! (mnemonic)(Gotcha?)

I'm really interested in why a person can raise one eyebrow or another, or can't raise only one, must raise both together. The reason has to be interesting and mean something - like a "clue".

Certain people can raise just one eyebrow at a time. They are usually up to something, evil, or sneaky. If they rub their hands together, or even worse, make a muahaha sound as they do this......RUN!
