So, yesterday, me and my friend (we're in the same piano class) went to lunch and then stopped by a piano store in our neighborhood. MMMMMM!! Beautiful pianos there. We saw a 1926 fully restored Steinway & Sons, with ivory keys no less, for $24,000. And a 1901 or 1905 (not sure), Steinway & Sons, with an absolutely gorgeous wood veneer finish for $46,000. There were some nice Yamahas too. Well, my friend played the $46,000 Steinway. WOW!!! Beautiful tone and you could play oh so pianissimo in the higher notes. I'd love to have that baby sitting in my living room. Of course, I'd have to move all my other furniture out to make room, but what the heck, we have a patio. LOL!! So, what's your dream piano? pdolce 
But, I played it perfectly at home!!

I've taken a few lessons on a 9'6" Bosendorfer Imperial Grand. When I come home, my 6'1" grand looks like a Baby Grand in comparison. I still love it though....... Dream piano -- one where tuning was no longer required, unisons never needed adjusting, humidity was not a factor, and one that has a push button to resize the piano from 6' to 9' as needed!

It depends on what you are comparing.
For about 25 years, off and on, I played our little Wurlitzer spinet. It was a nice little piano.
Right now I am playing a 5'8" grand -- Howard by Baldwin.
As grands go, this is not a super-expensive "Rolls Royce" type of item. However, for me it is a wonderful piano.
At my stage of life, and given my skill level, it is enough piano for me.
I really do not crave a Steinway.
But if you should win the lottery, be my guest.

I would love to try out some of the high end concert grands. But yeah, I'm pretty happy right now with my "little" S Kawai.  Although I can't believe how fast it's going out of tune!! and the weather still hasn't changed to it's normal summer ickyness.

One of our local piano shops has a Bosendorfer Imperial that I built up the nerve to touch recently.
I would have to take up a life of crime to be able to buy it but the tone was so rich and beautiful that my 1 year old son (who was in the process of making his escape) stopped in his tracks after hearing it.

Hmmm. Right now, my piano (Estonia 190) suits me fine. Frankly, I can't imagine ever being good enough to warrant anything else.

My dream piano "was" a 30ish C.Bechstein (almost new)......Ebony and ivory keys, delighful touch, action.... Fortunately, upgrading my budget with the help of my hubby (my birthday present)and inspection of my piano teacher...It became TRUE¡¡¡ Never understimate the power of dreams¡¡¡
An extremely lucky beginner (LOVE My C.Bechstein)¡¡¡¡ so excuse me, need to go practice.....

My dream piano would probably be the 7 foot Schimmel I played a couple of months ago with some beautiful inlay work. That thing was spectacular!
I imagine there are better pianos than this, but I haven't played any Bechstein, Bosies, AFs, or anything in tier 1 except some rebuilt Steinways and Masons. None of those were better than the Schimmel.

But there is a Bosendorfer at the dealers that is beautiful and ..........

I don't have a specific piano in mind. But I do know one thing -- it would be expensive. And I would need a bigger house to accommodate it.
