What's a good classical song for beginners to learn?

Either classic or suggestion for Scott Joplin's rags, would be awesome.

Thanks

What kind of 'beginners' do you mean exactly?

You could check out Bach's Prelude in C from the Well Tempered Clavier Book 1.

For me the easiest Joplin rags are Easy Winners and The Entertainer (tho TE has some octave runs that are hard for those of us with small hands, and if you're not used to them).

i agree, depending on how the 'beginner' is defined (3-month, 6-month, 1-year beginner or 2nd year beginner etc.), there're many beginner pieces for different stages.

as to classical pieces, typically, for beginners with less than 1 year playing experience, you'd choose from Bach A.M. Notebook (minuet, musette, etc.), while for beginners over 1 year, you might want to choose something like CPE Bach Solfeggietto, Bach little preludes and some easier 2-part inventions, and Clementi or Beethoven (etc) sonatinas.
