Does anybody know where I can find an image of a piano keyboard that I could print on a few sheets of paper to tape together for a "practice keyboard" for traveling? My daughter is leaving tomorrow for a week and needs *something* she can use. I figure she can work on learning scales at least, even with just a paper keyboard. Thanks!

I was wondering if one of those rollup keyboards could be handy for just the same type of purpose -- anyone use one of these ? Pretty easy to pack!

These aren't any good. When I first moved
into my apt. building, I noticed a tenant
with an acoustic upright being run out of
the building by the piano-hating neighbors.
I wanted to start playing again, but clearly
an acoustic piano was out of the question.
So, for a time, I tried other silent types
of alternatives (digital pianos were
available, but having grown up on acoustic
pianos I initially never even considered
them): I tried playing in the air
with my fingers on an invisible piano, but
this was less than ideal; I tried to find
one of those old silent keyboards that
used to be popular with concert pianists in
the 1930's, but couldn't find one; and I
got one of those life-size cardboard
keyboard charts with the piano keys printed
on them, from a music store, but I soon
found that this was surprisingly useless
--playing in the air with your fingers was
better than this.

A possible solution is one of those roll
up keyboards. I tried on in a store, and
I was surprised. This actually plays sort of
like a regular piano, even though the
keys don't move and the black keys don't
rise up above the white ones. It is
surprisingly good, not a joke, like it
seems to be at first glance.
