No OT, I grew up in Connecticut, but I have been here in AZ since 1984 when I came here to dive for ASU. I have been here ever since.

That was a really kewl story on the player piano, they kind of fascinate me!

Hi. Mr S-H, after 30 years they still fascinate me. I completely understand.

Hi Pianoga, I have the special edition DVD of MPSFTHG that has the "Lego version" - laugh .
Okay, I'll come clean. I'm on the left, and it really was a photo of me from Lohengrin, but a friend photoshopped me into the MP photo. I thought he did a bang-up job, right down to pulling my photo out of focus to match the blur in the MP photo. It almost looks like Eric Idle is reacting to something I said.

I'm verklempt! You're too kind. smile

I love to sing, and feel quite fortunate to be good enough to get paid for it. I can't describe how much fun it is to be on stage in front of a full house.

Wait'll you get to know me, then your opinion will change!

Amazing paste job! I had just found the lego version on the internet just before you posted, that was weird, and I found some other pictures of you on the internet and was gobsmacked! I couldn't figure if it was just your face that was photoshopped. That Lego version is just one more reason fro me to get that dvd!

OperaTenor, your daughter is precious beyond words, and your wife is indeed beautiful, even under the circumstances of the photo. NO woman can expect to look drop-dead gogeous climbing out a plane, presumably after a plane trip while holding a baby on one's lap. eek

(Just writing that is bringing back terrible memories of changing diapers on tray tables and singing multiple rounds of "BINGO" in a futile attempt to entertain said baby and keep him from kicking the seat in front of him.)

pianoga, "gobsmacked" is my all time favorite british expression and one I truly wish we Yanks would borrow. smile

Yeah Monica, it sure beats "pants". smile

Feel free to borrow other Britishisms too. You can spout them off the next time you get p!ssed while sucking some fags*. laugh

ebene, your hairstyle just brought back some 1970's flashbacks to me. eek

That's a SWEET bike you have there Jim and a georgous bird! Oh, and the macaw's kinda cute too. wink

OperaTenor- Great pics! Love Holy Grail- will have to look for you next time we watch! LOL

And such a sweet family! Your daughter is beautiful- as is your wife. Monica is right- climbing out of a plane, with or without baby!- is just not the best time for a picture! lol And a cool parrot and bike, too!

That was a tour of the plane, wasn't it?

Unless you are privileged enough to know someone who owns a vintage air force plane that still flies!

Hi All,

You're all too kind. shocked

Pianoga, "gobsmacked" - one of my favorites. As for the beard, I used to have one all the time, however, I wish I'd thought of honoring Graham.

Monica, Hobie, it actually wasn't a plane ride(although, for a mere $395, I could have had a 45 minute ride in it), but my first close up inspection of a B-17G. I really dig WWII planes.

The rest - thank you for the compliments. I'm truly fortunate to have my family.

BTW, this is the original photo of me used to paste into the MP photo:

Hobie, you need to upload the file to a host if you don't have it online already.

To upload a photo

Try this... goto an image hosting site like the one below. http://www.imageshack.us

1. Click browse and select your file,
2. If the image is really big, check the box next to the upload button that says resize and select the "resize to 640x480 (message board)" size.
3. Click "host it" and wait for it to upload
4. When it's done, it will show you several different links to your image. It will look like the screen shown below. Just select the "Direct link to image" link and copy it (right click and select copy).
[Linked Image]

5. Goto the forums and select full reply form.
6. Press the "IMAGE" button shown next to all the smiley faces. A window will pop up asking for the link.
7. Paste in the link you copied (Right click and paste).
8. Preview your post to make sure the picture worked.

That's all there is to it. This link should work for 30 days after the last person views it. I should add, if you don't register with them, you won't be able to get back to the page with links. If you lose the link and close the window you will have to re-upload the file and get a new link.

But if I have a picture that's in a file with other pictures, how do I just choose one?

Mark, You have to give us a little more information to help you out...

Are you talking about several images that are combined (mosaic like) to make one image and you want to take just one out?

Are you talking about a slideshow of some form and you want to take one image out?

I wasn't there but some years ago, a person in California was demonstrating at an Japan festival and after demonstrating some quick moves sheathed his sword.

A couple of fingers on his left hand fell off.
They were quickly retrieved and he was taken to the emergency room to have them reattached.

This story may be apocryphal, but I tell it to my students anyway to remind them to slow slow down and be precise and accurate in their movements. smile

Let me assure you, though, that while I was in the kitchen, I was neither barefoot nor pregnant.

And what's with my spelling of "glamour?" I use "spot on" a couple of times and suddenly think I'm British?
