Hi guys,

I'm a little late getting into this thread, but I would be keen to contribute for several reasons. The biggest one being that I am the world's most unaware person with regards to the Beatles.

I can name around 10 songs they did, but I don't own any of their cd's or anything. So this can be my chance to find out why they were the greatest band ever. Will get back to you with a song for me (are we doing interpretations, or keeping things 'between the lines' with regards to the originals?)

If it isn't already taken, I'd be up for doing "a little help from my friends" which seems somehow very appropriate for this forum.

I'll have to dig around for an arrangement though, as I'm not a play-by-ear kinda girl. Suggestions welcome.

If I had ever learnt, I should have been a great proficient.

I am thinking it is now up to the individual, it doesn't matter if more than one individual is doing the same as others, so I think your bid is OK I think smile

Instead of limiting certain songs to certain members, everyone will be able to perform whatever they truly wish and not have to settle for second or third choice.( Again, every performance will be unique). Also, if we are to include ALL Beatles works and not limiting to just a couple of albums, everyone will be able to cherry pick their absolute favorites and will probably end up being an even more enjoyable experience.

The "intent" of this thread as I see it is to have as many AB members as possible perform Beatles tunes for others to enjoy in one consolidated thread.

I think Angelo came up with a great idea and it would be nice to encourage as many people as possible to participate without any limitations.
Someone correct me if I am wrong

Euan,

With regards to your question if we're sticking to original interpretive versions or if we're going to keep things "between the lines," ANYTHING, and I mean A N Y T H I N G goes ! ! !

Thanks for joining up ! ! !

Dave 123,

Yes. We can have 1000 versions of any one song, and that would be fine !

There are only three rules:

1) The song must be Beatle related

2) There must be some piano audible

3) Anything else is left up to you; no restrictions with regard to talent, no restrictions on how you want to play it (it can be avant garde, a straight version. or even unrecognizable eek , no retrictions with regards to there being audible mistakes or not eek eek , and the main purpose of this is to have fun with Beatles songs! :p

Please turn off your internal critic and join the show!

Again, I'll start the thread in a couple of weeks.

Just wanted to say: I'm in!
Will there be a time limit on posting a song? For the level I'm at, two weeks is a bit short...will it be open for posting for a month or so?

thanks

This is GREAT ! !

Bartok's Babe: I think the thread that I open up in September will be alive as long as people want it to (no time limit as long as people remain interested!!)

"A Day in the Life?"
"We Can Work it Out?"

Awesome ! ! !
