I'm not participating next year.
My body is definitely telling me that it is more important to take the occasional day off than to push to practice every single day.

Kathleen Play everyday in 2008 and you get one at the end of the year. And if you did it in 2007 you get one now...

If you're away from home, without access to a piano, does playing mentally count? E.g., studying the sheet music, doing "mental play", memorizing?

Please include me - at least I don't need to be able to play well for this! I think it will help me because I found in the run-up to Christmas that once I had missed a day, it was much easier to miss the next day and the one after.......Happy New Year everyone

I am now back from my expedition(i.e didn't practice, excused of course) The sun went down before 5 PM, so naturally, I practiced mentally! Sign me up!

OK, sign me up. I've never missed a day of practice. When I'm travelling, I bring a MIDI keyboard I don't need MOYD to keep me motivated but if this motivates others, I'll be glad to help.

Add me to the list. Practicing is not my problem. I enjoy it. Getting me to the piano bench is another issue. When I'm practicing, time flies, and I conclude with a sense of accomplishment. I don't know why I too often don't make time for it.

Add me to the list, please. This years I didnt practise everyday, because I had some important exams and, to be honest, sometimes I just didnt feel like practising, but this year I hope Ill manage!

Hey put me in! But I'll be on holiday's during mid Jan to mid Feb so does that mean I'll be on the excused MOYD? Sounds like a great challenge! See you all at the end of next year... hopefully..

Does anybody know a good blog style site I can use to keep track for myself? Post all my recording and videos on and all that. As well as keeping track of practice, of course.

Count me in. I will need to practice everyday if I am going to accomplish my goals next year. This will help me stay accountable.

OK, judgement call here: I started on December 8 and have been faithful everyday--except Xmas Eve and Xmas Day. Had the 4 and 2 year old grandchildren here plus some "intestinal distress." Really wanted to get to the keyboard--right there in the next room, but just no time to myself. I'll fess up to failure if need be. What do you think? Happy New Year and good luck to all in the MOYD list for 2008!
I'm getting there--note by note.

I'm in! Does it count if I can get my six year old son to the bench and not me?? He started in April 2007 and is doing well, if I can just get him to practice. Six year old boys prefer their trucks and trains rather than practicing their piano lesson.
Stop buying things you can't afford....unless of course it's a piano.
