Dohnanyi Erno wrote 40 essential finger exercises. If one can fly through these 40 exercises, I don't see there is a need for any other exercise to improve finger technique.

I would swear I've seen this thread before. Anyway, at 50 Euros, it's going to be $75 bucks, plus shipping, probably from Europe, so maybe 85 bucks. Looks like a pretty thin book too. I might pay that if it's delivered by Arthur Rubenstein, risen from the dead, and he gives me a piano lesson, mows my lawn, and washes my car before he goes. BTW - I see you are inching me out for the practice title this month. How can you have time for another book? [Also, here's a tip: If you use the URL "Instant UBB Code" for super-long URLs like this, it should prevent the extra-wide post pages. ]

What LisztAddict said. Also, I think it is very important to do the exercises in a right way, which may vary depending on your method. I like Fink methods, I have one of his videos, and if you have money to burn on this kind of stuff, I would highly recommend it.

Yes, Blue, you've seen it before. I posted it by accident here meaning to post it to Pianist Corner to start with. So I decided to post it to Pianist Corner hoping for a better response. Of course since what I have bookmarked is ABF I just managed to post it here again. Also please explain a bit more about how "Instant UBB Code" is used.
Slow down and do it right.

Click on that and it'll give you a popup that says "Enter the complete URL for the link you wish to add" in which you type http.... when you click enter it'll give another popup that says "Now enter the title for the web page..." in which you type the text you want to appear. Hope this helps.

Looks like Greg already answered. I would just add that you could probably test it by editing this thread. Just cut 'n' paste the long URL and your substitute text into the boxes Greg described. I bet that would work to thin out this thread. LOL!

Here is a link to the book that Frycek had posted. Frycek: if you click on "add reply" you'll see what the UBB code for this link looks like. I'd suggest not deleting this thread since others might wonder about the book in the future and, who knows, someone might even buy it and post a review.

No, please don't delete this thread. I got a lot of good insight into this book. I would have considered ordering it as well if I hadn't read about some alternatives (also the price--gulp!).
Thanks,
Nancy
