Home setup for Privia PX-130 Digital Piano

We all want to practice without headphones and have an acoustic piano like experience. It is very easy to get awful sound quality by over-driving amplifiers and speakers. After almost six months of trial and error, I found that a classic stereo system with decent JBL speakers can work very well. Just keep the piano volume setting around 30-40% of max, and the tuner master volume at 60% (in the case of the Hitachi tuner I'm using.) If I stray from these settings, sound quality rapidly degrades, distorts, gets static, an all manner of odd stuff. What worked for you?
