Brinsmead piano pin block

I came across this unusual piano type in Dallas this weekend. There is no pin block and the pins are different and set upwards.

I have one of these now as my daily piano, and to tell the truth, I have no problem with the tuning at all. I move it often, as I change the layout of my flat constantly, and it never leaves tune.

When I bought it, it hadn't been tuned in about 15 years, and it was merely a quarter-tone out of tune after travelling 700kms in a truck.

Bautiful, very ornate! What wood is used?

If the piano is the King of instruments then I am its loyal servant.
