In-Tune, the Piano World Newsletter

Happy Musical New Year!

January 2012

Check the In-Tune Newsletter Archives to see what you've been missing and catch up on what's been happening!

And so We Begin a New Year

Thank you for being a part of the Piano World family!
It's been a pleasure to share our love of all things piano with you.
Piano World and the Piano Forums were created to help spread the joy of playing piano, and to encourage more people to take up (or return to) the instrument.

Over the years we've continued to grow thanks to people just like you. People who enjoy the piano, whether it's playing, listening, fixing, selling, or a combination of these we are all fascinated by the piano.
Whatever your involvement with the piano I hope you will continue in 2012, and that you will encourage others to play piano. Don't forget to invite them to join our Piano Forums.
And speaking of the Piano Forums, some members started a thread In Support of PW . If you'd like to see how you can help, please check out the thread, or our Support Options page. Thanks for your help!
2011 - Our Year in Numbers

2011 has been a pretty good year for us. Even though business has been down a bit, we've had the pleasure of adding over 6000 new members (welcome to each of you) and watched our piano forums grow to 1.8 million posts.

Many of those posts are from people looking for information about pianos because they wanted to purchase one. Often times it was their first piano. Happily many of these turned into excited posts about their new piano (always one of my favorite post topics).

How many posts talk about My New Piano? Do a search on the Forums using "My New Piano" as the search string (and yes, include the quotes). The results? 384,000 times! Now granted that includes single posts that contain "my new piano" more than once, but still it's a LOT of happy new piano owners (shameless plug: one more reason why advertising on Piano World is a no brainer if you are in the piano business).

A few more numbers...

In the last 30 days Piano World enjoyed 620,561 unique visitors.
That works out to over 20,685 Unique Visitors A DAY!
(Numbers were taken directly from our Google analytics which are somewhat under reported because they aren't collecting data from every page of Piano World).

We also received nearly 3 million page views in the last 30 days, an average of almost 100,000 page views a day!
Mason & Hamlin Piano Factory Tour

Pictures from our tour

I know, the tour was way back in October, but this is the first time I've had a chance to tell you all that there are some pictures and comments posted about the tour.
Tour of the Mason & Hamlin Piano Factory from Friday Oct. 7, 2011
Mason & Hamlin Tour Details - Click Here

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank our friends at Mason & Hamlin for yet another steller tour of their piano factory. And if that's not enough, we ended the tour with a great meal up in the showroom and had the pleasure of playing some newly minted pianos.

Unfortunately the management team and owners couldn't be there this time around, but we were so well taken care of I'm not sure anybody noticed :-)

Watch the forums and these newsletters for the next tour, hopefully in 2012.

Do You Visit Our Other Forums?
Wanna Know Why You Should?

Do you ever visit our other forums?
What do I mean? Many of our members (and guests) find a specific forum from our list and stay with that one forum.

Now if you are primarily interested in discussing playing the piano with other pianist, you probably do want to mostly visit the Pianist Corner, or the Pianist Corner - Non Classical.

If you are searching for a new piano or curious about your old/current one, you likely want to be visiting the forum called Piano Forum.
Even so, you may find it interesting to pop into the Piano Tuner-Technician's forum, or the Teachers Forum occasionally just to see what is going on.

Or maybe drop in on the Digital Piano Forum to see what the latest keyboards are all about and what people are saying about them.

Did you even know we have an entire section of forums Just For Fun?
That's right, a collection of forums of stuff just for fun.

Than we have the Mechanical Music Forum for discussions about player pianos, nickelodians, music boxes, and other mechanical musical instruments.

There's even one for Organs including electronic (think B3), theatre, and pipe.

And don't forget to check "Active Topics" (see links at top of forums page) This shows you the most active discussions going on right now.

If that's not enough, try our Directory for information about some of the other 1000+ pages of Piano World. You'll even find music related jigsaw puzzles you can do online, and music word searches we created.

So see, there's lots more to explore on Piano World, check it out today.
