Piano World Piano Forums Newsletter January 2007s

About "In-Tune"
In-Tune comes out regularly, make that semi-regularly, ok... when I have time :-)

You Are Receiving This Newsletter Because... at one time you visited Piano World and gave us your email, or you signed up for our newsletter, entered our contest, etc.
If you received more than one copy, I apologize, you shouldn't receive more than two (but hey, feel free to share them with your friends).
If you no longer wish to receive the newsletter, remove instructions are at the bottom.

Much of the material for In-Tune comes from our world famous piano forums.
NAMM 2007 - Anaheim, CA
The winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show is coming up shortly (Jan. 18-21).
I will be there Thur. morning through Sun. afternoon checking out all the latest goodies, taking pictures and playing with the new toys.
A couple of our forums members have contacted me about meeting while we're out there which I'm very excited about. I always enjoy meeting up with our members.

It's a wonderful opportunity to see who is doing what in the industry, and I usually make some good contacts.

If you are planning on attending, and would like to meet up, even if it's just for a quick hello, please let me know. There is a thread about this here...

Party Time?
Winter is typically a good time to host a piano forums party. If you aren't sure what that is, take a look at some of the parties other members have hosted ....
We had a fantastic two day piano forums party down the cape in the early fall (hoping to do it again next year).
Piano Forums parties are a great way to meet other members, and share your love of piano music (along with some good food, drink, and conversation). If you decide to host a forums party, remember there are a few basic rules:
~ Everybody plays, no excuses
~ We want pictures!
~ At least one of the pictures has to be a complete group shot (and if the piano is a grand/baby grand, some people should be under it :-)
~ You gotta have fun!

Mason & Hamlin Factory Tour
Our yearly tour of the Mason & Hamlin factory in Haverhill, MA isn't until some time in May, but we are already nearly booked up. If you would like to join us for this fascinating tour, better get your name on the list a.s.a.p. !

To those of you who joined us recently, welcome, we hope you enjoy your stay. To those who have been members for a while, thank you, we hope you are still enjoying the forums.
If you haven't visited in a while, please come back and poke around, there are a lot of interesting and fun posts, pictures, links, and more.

Speaking of The Piano Forums
As I usually mention in these newsletters, most people develop favorite forums and visit the same ones most of the time. Do yourself a favor, pop into the other forums from time to time and have a look around. You might be pleasantly at what you find.

For example, there's some fun stuff in the "Just For The Fun of It" forums...

Or you might be interested in something like this post from member Apple*
www.pianoworld.com/ubb/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/topic/1/16569.html which includes pictures of a giant theatre organ with 10 manuals (keyboards)!

Or maybe just something silly, like this post about what animals do when you're not home...

With over 722,000 posts, there's something for everyone.

Polls Anyone?
We occasionally post a poll to get peoples opinions and/or choices about piano and/or music related topics. This is one we did in Sept. that had 350 responses...

If you'd like to suggest a future poll, please let me know.
I'd also be happy to work with professionals in the industry (like NAMM) if there is an interest. Particularly with anything that might help find ways to promote the joys of making music.

Our polls are anonymous, but you do have to be a registered forums member to participate.

Etiquette Reminder
Please remember the piano forums are a family-friendly place. Keep your posts clean, and be kind to other posters.

The Piano World web site (including the forums) averages over 3 million page views a month, with upwards of 300,000 unique visitors. Our newsletter (the one you're reading now) goes out to over 25,000 music lovers.
[Note: we do not sell, rent, or share our members/visitors emails]

We offer very effective classified/display ads, run of site, and spots in this newsletter.

Speaking of Helping
As your host, and the founder/owner of Piano World, I'm asking you to keep me in mind.
I lost my "day job" back in June. Been doing some consulting (Ecommerce and SEO) but need to find a steadier gig now.
If you know of anyone who might need an Ecommerce and/or SEO/SEM expert/consultant, please let me know.
My other web sites are here:

In Closing
As always, if you have any ideas or suggestions for the next issue of our newsletter, the Piano Forums, or Piano World, please let me know (webmaster@pianoworld.com)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday, and that the New Year is your best yet.
